GetNaked Freezer Favorites
Yesterday I took you inside my fridge so today, let me show you a few of my favorite foods to keep stocked in your freezer for quick and easy meals and snacks.
Frozen fruits and veggies can be more nutritious than fresh because they’re picked at peak freshness and frozen to preserve nutrients. Fresh produce on the other hand may be shipped from the other side of the world and can lose nutrients due to time and temperature conditions so keep some frozen fruits and veggies stocked. Veggies for roasting, soups, omelets, stir fry and sautés, smoothies, you name it. Fruit for smoothies, toppings, desserts, sauces or just to eat frozen as a snack or dip in chocolate for a healthy treat.
Veggies burgers such as @drpraegers for quick sandwiches, salad or meal additions.
Waffles 🧇 for the quickest and yummiest breakfast or snack. I love my @vansfoods power waffles spread with crunchy peanut butter, seeds and berries. Toast and top. They’re life. My clients know what I’m talkin’ about 😜 🤲.
Sprouted or any whole grain sliced bread such as @foodforlifebaking Genesis bread for a nutritious vehicle to hold your eggs, tuna, turkey, hummus, cheese, veggies or anything else you can think of that bread does 😃. I even make French toast out of it and it’s gooooood. Straight from the freezer to the toaster or leave a few slices in the fridge or out on the counter and it defrosts quickly.
Last but not least, cauliflower gnocchi or other pastas, tortellini, raviolis or grains for quick meals or side dishes. Check out my previous post for baked truffled parm cauli gnocchi. That’s a lot of words..but not a lot of time to make. Because I don’t do complicated or time-consuming. Unless I get stuck in Q with my kids again..then you may see some more @nytcooking recipes that require a little more time and patience. But that’s my therapy. What are your favorite freezer picks? I showed you mine now you show me yours! Comment below with your staples!
