Ever Feel Like 2 Totally Different People?

EVER FEEL LIKE TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT PEOPLE? ANGEL JULIE VS. DEVIL JULIE

Here’s why HEALTHY Julie turns into HANGRY Julie…

The #1 reason you can’t stick to a healthy routine when it comes to the food and cravings part of your puzzle, is that you’re either too strict during the daytime hours or you’re just simply not eating enough for various reasons. Maybe you’re busy making the kid’s lunches or your meeting ran long or you just don’t have time to stop or you don’t feel like making anything because it feels like a chore. Maybe you tell me you just aren’t hungry and you’re not thinking about eating. You’re too busy.

A dark cloud settles over 3rd period (wait forget that, it’s from Clueless). Then suddenly it’s 2pm and HANGRY Julie shows her fangs whether she realizes it or not. Her blood sugar has dropped, she can’t think straight, she has depleted her energy and thinking stores for the day, and she starts munching on handfuls of popcorn and then fruit to try and still “keep it healthy” but then the kids bust through the door. Her stress levels rise as she begins cleaning out their bags and finding their homework, and the Halloween candy comes out of hiding again because someone found it on the top shelf in the laundry room. Then come the pretzels and cookies and before she knows it, she just ate a whole bunch of stuff that she can’t remember and that “what did I do again” feelings creeps back in. She is either still hungry so keeps eating for the rest of the later part of the day, or feels so stuffed that she doesn’t feel like making or eating dinner.

Whaaa whaaa…now what?! Here’s what. FUEL yourself during those daytime hours when you are typically much more active and need energy to keep your blood sugar stable and your body working at peak. You are rarely working hard at anything at night.

Flip your day. Be mindful. Don’t skip carbs. Add protein to all meals. Keep it light in the evening and you will typically start to wake up hungry and excited for breakfast. I love to hear when that happens.
