Dumb and Dumber Diets

Oh come on, aren’t we smarter than Lloyd Christmas??  To be clear, I am not ashamed to admit that Dumb and Dumber is one of my favorite movies.  With that said, let’s move on because one of my client sessions this am inspired this post.

I know it’s tempting to try again when a quick fix is marketed so brilliantly to you, but when you can only eat foods from Box A and suddenly life happens again and you eat off limits food from Box B, then you will likely tend to overeat or even binge, which is a terrible feeling.  The majority of us have been there.  From decades of experience working with clients just like you, it’s my mission to show you that everything can somehow fit into a healthy diet.

You probably read stuff like this from all kinds of dietitians and health experts, and are frankly sick of it, but we only say it because we have lived it ourselves.  We have worked with so many people who have struggled for so long and now it’s like whoa, this gigantic invisible weight of the world from constantly thinking about food, weight and dieting has slowly vanished over time and you’re SO MUCH HAPPIER. 

You go from the highest highs of dieting and quick weight loss to the lowest lows of guilt and mental chaos and a physically dreadful heavy feeling again.  There’s something in between these extremes and it takes proper education, therapy, and getting out of your own head to get there.  It takes belief in yourself that it’s possible and when you start to see the light, it gives me goosebumps.
